With Victor Wembanyama getting so much attention, we fail to realize that his supporting cast is starting to grow alongside him.

Playing in the shadow of another player — let alone a younger one — can be tough for many of the league’s players. And, of course, taller players, by trigonometric law, cast taller shadows than most.

Well, it’s also because the titular tall player is one of the greatest prospects in the history of the league. That also doesn’t help.

Yet, despite the fervor surrounding Victor Wembanyama — along with the narratives about his teammates’ supposed faults — there truly are some major improvements being made across the roster. While the Spurs may be deemed as the Wemby show, that focus has caused many of us to put on blinders, failing to realize that guys like Devin Vassell, Jeremy Sochan, and Tre Jones are all showing their merit. Let’s take a look at each of them, along with the things they’ve improved upon in their recent contests.
