Ring ring (ring, ring, ring)! The Olympics are here!
We’ve waited long enough, but it’s finally here: Olympic basketball is so back!
Yesterday’s games marked the first day of the men’s Olympic basketball squads — or, at least the 5x5 teams — with (*deep breath*) France, Brazil, Germany, Japan, Australia, Spain, Greece, and Canada (*exhale*) all taking the court. While we Americans will likely be more engrossed by Team USA’s outing versus Serbia today, it would be patently unfair to turn a blind eye to the rest of the world, as much as we might hate the imperial system. With the world’s most chaotic international basketball jamboree officially starting, let’s take a look at each of Saturday’s games to see what they might mean for the rest of the Olympics.
First up, a German stomping of Japan that may bring hope to the oft-disappointing squad…
