Take Him To Detroit.
My current frustrations with the Pistons, from a non-fan.
So there’s this GIF that you’ve probably seen a thousand times in relation to the Pistons. Come on, you know the one:
Now I, for one, have no idea what the context is here. After looking it up, I still have no idea what the context is, other than it comes from a skit-based movie called, uh, The Kentucky Fried Movie.
Despite not knowing anything about said movie, the GIF currently feels like reality when it comes to the Pistons’ organization. This was supposed to be a leap year for the Pistons in a possible push toward the playoffs — except this kind of leap year hasn’t occurred since 2008, which is when the Pistons last won a game in the postseason. Cade Cunningham was supposed to be the franchise savior along with Jaden Ivey, Isaiah Stewart, Jalen Duren, and the youngin’ in Ausar Thompson. Now, let me be frank, I am not a Pistons fan inherently, though I think they have the pieces to be great very soon. In saying that, though, I’m frustrated with how bad this team is, despite some of their players being so good. It’s soapbox time.
