If I had a nickel for every time I’ve written an article because of a media pundit’s offhand comment this week, I’d have two nickels. That isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.

Earlier this week, the literal embodiment of strange NBA opinions, Kendrick Perkins, made the argument that Kings’ offensive engine Domantas Sabonis is an MVP candidate — he was then borderline laughed at for saying so.

Yet, for the first time in my life, I agree with Kendrick Perkins. Perkins is not saying that Sabonis should win MVP, because we all know he’s not even a top-3 candidate. Beyond that, however, you could definitely make a case for the Lithuanian. In fact, it’s easy to make that case.
